Poise…that would be the word that I would use to describe this young lady. That, and absolutely GORGEOUS! Her quite confidence runs deep and she is wise beyond her years. This was the first of two session with Hailey, her second is with her bestie Hannah and I absolutely can’t wait to see what that session brings tomorrow!
Since about 150% of my business is based on referrals, I am so honored when a new client comes to see me. And, to capture a young adult on the brink of what will be some of the best years of their lives, filled with growth, learning and experience you can’t help but see that untamed spirt which radiates within. Its the spark of youth that I see, that radiates, that makes me remember. With each senior session I hope to encapsulate that light, that spark which shines though.
Since Izzy is out of school a few weeks before her brother I am trying spend time during the day doing activities SHE enjoys. Her brother, who is an great sport, really does not enjoy crafts and I generally fill our days with things we ALL enjoy. The poor girl has been sick with a terrible cough and ear infection so today was the first day we actually got to do anything. So off to the craft store we went to make our own fairy basket where you are only limited by your imagination. We spent several hours painting and arranging the fairy land. We also talked about what fairies eat and how they sleep. It was a totally enchanted day.

As a photographer, I have had some unique opportunities to do some fun and creative things. Included in that is taking photos of bands. This has been a fun accept for me that allows me to utilize some different creative juices. Some of you may know that this is the band that Mike is in called Sierra Hotel. So here it is Friday, a few days before Mothers Day. I am gushing over this sweet adorable family I had the pleasure to photograph and I am realizing how blessed am in my life with so many amazing women. Not only do I have an AMAZING mom, but also I was given a the BEST step-mom and my (almost) mother-in-law is heaven sent and the sweetest person you could ever know. I also have a strong network of courageous, fearless and beautiful women all around me. Some are new-mothers, some are experienced mothers and some are just pure goodness and some don’t have their own children but radiate love from every pore of their body. The women in my life kick BUTT!! All these women are beautiful, strong and powerful. They belong to a network of special people in my life. I am truly so lucky!
No exception to this, is my dear friend Joci! A friendship made through the Cherry Creek High School Wrestling Staff and a friendship that has grown each year. About three years ago I was blessed to photograph their second child Annie, who is absolutely adorable! Now three years later, I had the pleasure to love, cuddle and photograph sweet Elizabeth Ruth! Taking the photos is just one part of my job, but an even bigger part of my job is the bond I see as families grow and strengthen and the amazing women I get to meet. Happy Mothers Day!!!
